On 25 April, FEPORT responded to the open call for feedback regarding the draft Clean Industrial Deal State Aid Framework (CISAF) guidelines.
FEPORT reply supported the draft Guidelines’ rationale to provide aid on the basis of fixed decarbonisation and energy efficiency targets, while providing suggestions aimed at ensuring that terminal operators can profit from aid that is distributed under the Clean Industrial Deal State Aid framework. This is key as investments in the greening of terminal operators do not only lead to direct emission reductions at their facilities, but also enable the decarbonisation of ports, the wider (maritime) transport sector and industry.
Our response also provided a number of suggestions on how to better align the Guidelines with other EU climate policies such as the different pieces of legislation of the Fit for 55 package, in particular the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation and EU ETS.
