FEPORT welcomes Commission proposal for a new Public Procurement Act – Brussels

On 9 September, the European Commission published its proposal for a new Public Procurement Act. The proposal would consolidate the existing Public Procurement, Utilities and Concessions Directives into a single, directly applicable Regulation covering public contracts and concessions. FEPORT welcomes the objective of establishing a simpler and more predictable framework supporting infrastructure investment, public-private cooperation and European competitiveness.

FEPORT welcomes the overall direction of the proposal and will follow the negotiations in the European Parliament and the Council, with particular attention to legal certainty for port land leases, investment-based concession periods and the proportionate application of security requirements.
