FEPORT welcomes the PSF’s efforts to simplify and streamline the Taxonomy criteria, aiming at reducing administrative burdens for companies while preventing duplications between the different sections.
It is however crucial to maintain the reference in activity description 6.16 to modal shift, due to its contribution to transport sector decarbonisation as well as to ensure alignment between different EU policies. Dredging, given its contribution to both climate change mitigation and adaption, should neither be overlooked.
Finally, it is essential to ensure that cargo handling is explicitly referred to in activity description 6.16, considering this activity’s contribution to the decarbonisation of the (maritime) transport sector and ports.
