Regulation on the use of Railway Infrastructure Capacity in the Single European Railway Area

This document contains FEPORT’s feedback on the Proposal for a Regulation on the use of Railway Infrastructure Capacity in the Single European Railway Area. FEPORT, representing private port companies and terminals involved in cargo handling and logistics in EU seaports, welcomes the opportunity to provide input on this proposal. The document does not specify a creation date.

A key position is FEPORT’s strong support for the proposal’s efforts to enhance the availability of rail infrastructure capacity. This includes improving processes for capacity allocation for both passenger and freight trains.

The document highlights the importance of an efficient and reliable framework for capacity allocation to freight trains, as well as effective coordination with terminal operators. This is deemed a prerequisite for terminal operators to offer multi-modal transport solutions to their customers.
