FEPORT replies to Call for Feedback on Amendments to the Taxonomy Delegated Acts – Brussels

On April 14th, FEPORT submitted its reply to the call for feedback on the Commission draft proposal amending Taxonomy Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/2139.

FEPORT closely follows the implementation of the Taxonomy framework as it is key to have the right definitions in place to mobilise the maximum amount of sustainable finance for the decarbonisation of the sector, for example, by reducing emissions of cargo handling operations in seaports.

In this context, our reply welcomes the improved reference to cargo handling in seaports through the inclusion of NACE Code H52.2 and by directly referring to equipment dedicated to the transhipment of freight between transport modes. FEPORT recommended to apply this reference across transport modes. Moreover, FEPORT contribution called for effective criteria regarding the classification of sustainable investments into port infrastructure that can be used for the handling of various cargo types.
